A LITTLE ABOUT ME…

My name is Estefania, Known as Nia since a young age. My love and passion for art started since a kid, I always had a passion for creating things. From painting Canvas, Jackets, Sneakers, Murals.. Always ways had huge curiosity for art itself, learning different techniques from Acrylic paints, Spray Paints, Airbrush and other sources allowed me to open up my mind to all the different openings this world has. Here I am 4 years later expressing my art on skin! How awesome is that. It is an honor and a pleasure for me to know I’ve been chosen by you to create something permanent. Each piece for me is a challenge to make it even better than what you can imagine! This curiosity to these techniques have allowed my process in tattooing to hit the ground running, Wanting to learn and research about this industry has allowed me to reach a steady flow of clientele which iam super grateful for! At the age of 18 my curiosity for tattooing took me to doors that were unfortunately not opened to a female tattoo artist, specially to someone completely clueless about how to get started. I didn’t know about a portfolio, I didn’t know who i needed to call or if i needed permits or not. Unfortunately this isn’t a friendly industry to get into, unless to get to the right door. I continued my life a Banker, Retail Associate, Call Center Specialist and Car SalesWOMAN lol. I did it all, but after a call i made to my sister, a little tipsy in a bar in Miami; upset about my career and telling her i just couldn’t work at my current job anymore and how i just felt like I didn’t fit in, my sister said “ART! That’s your calling, and you haven’t gave it a chance” she filled me up with encouragement to start my journey. I guess things happen for a reason, and as much as i wish sometimes i would have started at a younger age, I have so much experience with retail, business that it has helped me a long way and who knows maybe duringthese times I wouldn’t have been ready for the hard work this project would take to make it happen! After failed attempts of finding a job that suited me, i took a leap of faith. I started researching about the industry more and more. After meeting Lalo, an artist from Elizabeth NJ who gave me the introduction to this business , I practiced for a couple months at home, started tattooing high school friends, Later on found myself in front of BV inks tattoo studio where i met Bryan, the shop owner who was still not opened for business but took me in as his first artist. Bryan gave me the running shoes, and my career took off.
